Experience a unique wildlife adventure with a 1-day tour to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located in Nakasongola, about 100 miles north of Kampala, close to Murchison Falls National Park. This is the only place in Uganda where you can view Southern White Rhinos in their natural habitat. The sanctuary spans 7,000 hectares, home to about 22 endangered rhinos, providing an extraordinary opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures roaming freely.
Your day begins with an early breakfast around 6 AM before a 3-hour drive north. Arriving at the sanctuary, you’ll be greeted warmly and receive an informative briefing by the park rangers. Then, set off on foot for a thrilling rhino tracking experience. You’ll spend up to one hour in the company of these incredible animals, with opportunities to visit different groups and observe them as they feed and wander. Please follow the ranger’s advice for a safe and respectful trek, ensuring a memorable encounter with these rare creatures.
