This 4-day safari takes you on an exhilarating journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, where adventure meets wildlife in one of Uganda’s most scenic destinations. The park is home to the rare mountain gorillas and the endemic golden monkeys, forming part of the greater Virunga Conservation Area shared by Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A hike up Mount Muhabura offers the unique thrill of standing at the crossroads of all three countries.
Highlights of this safari include the majestic Virunga Volcanoes, encounters with the endangered Mountain Gorillas, the serene beauty of Lake Mutanda, and the vibrant town of Kisoro. Activities range from gorilla trekking and volcano hiking to cave explorations, providing an extraordinary blend of adventure, wildlife encounters, and breathtaking landscapes.
After breakfast you will embark on a 9-12 hour drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. On arrival, you will check into the accommodation facility for dinner and overnight.
Start your day with an early breakfast. Embark on hiking around the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes, giving the chance to spot forest gorillas, birds, and glorious views of the surrounding lakes and agricultural villages. Return back to your accommodation overnight.
Transfer to Mutanda Resort for a relaxed day. Enjoy the beauty of the earth with the view of the lake, mountains, birds and gorillas.
Wake up to the rhythm of nature. Check-out of your lodge after breakfast and embark on a 9-12hr drive back to Kampala as you enjoy a game drive enroute. Drop off at your Kampala residence or accommodation.
